The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International Foundation (“AUVSI Foundation”) has adopted this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to govern the collection, use, and storage of data.  Protecting your private information is our priority.  For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to AUVSI Foundation include www.robonation.org, www.seaperch.org and www.seaglide.org.  The AUVSI Foundation website is a site that provides a pathway of hands-on robotic education experiences.  This Policy governs all forms of Personal Data collected by Foundation whether electronic, written or oral.  By using any of the AUVSI Foundation websites or providing your information to us, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Collection of your Personal Data
In order to better provide you with products and services on our site, AUVSI Foundation may collect Personal Data.  Personal Data identifies you as an individual or is information that can be linked to you as an individual (“Personal Data”) and may include:

  • Mailing Address
  • E-mail Address
  • Phone number
  • Employer
  • Job Title

If you purchase AUVSI Foundation’s products and services, we collect billing and credit information.  This information is used to complete the purchase transaction.

We do not collect any Personal Data unless you voluntarily provide it to us.  However, you may be required to provide certain Personal Data to us when you elect to use certain products or services available on the site.  Personal Data is required in connection with registering with the site.  In addition, Personal Data will be requested in connection with student competitions  registration, event activities, purchasing products or services, requesting additional information, signing up for newsletters, or submitting questions through this site.

Automatically Collected Data
Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by AUVSI Foundation.  This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses.  This information is used for the operation of the services, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the AUVSI Foundation website.

Use of your Personal Data
AUVSI Foundation collects and uses your Personal Data to operate its website(s) and deliver the services you have requested.

AUVSI Foundation may also use your Personal Data to inform you of other products or services available from AUVSI Foundation; to send e-mail alerts to you, to answer your requests, to process your registration application, to process your meeting registration, etc. We may also use your information to track visits to our website. This lets us see which of our features are the most popular so we can better serve our users’ needs.

AUVSI Foundation does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.

AUVSI Foundation may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about particular offering that may be of interest to you.  In those cases, your unique Personal Data (email, name, address, telephone number) is transferred to the third party. AUVSI Foundation may keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within AUVSI Foundation, in order to determine what AUVSI Foundation services are the most popular.  This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within AUVSI Foundation to customers whose behavior indicates they are interested in a particular subject area.

Children Under Thirteen

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure.  In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. We restrict access to Personal Data to our employees, contractors and service who need to know the information to operate, develop, or improve our services.

Unfortunately, no transmission of Personal Data over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.  Accordingly, and despite our efforts, AUVSI Foundation cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, or to or from our online services.  AUVSI Foundation has no responsibility or liability for the security of information transmitted via the Internet. AUVSI Foundation acknowledges that you have the right to access your Personal Data. In case you request us to remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Upon request, we will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your Personal Data.  You can update or correct your Personal Data or remove it from our system by making a request to us at the contact information provided below.  Requests typically receive a response within thirty (30) days. If access cannot be provided within that time frame, we will provide the requesting party with an estimated date by which the information will be provided. If for some reason access is denied, we will provide an explanation of why access has been denied.

AUVSI Foundation is committed to the protection of Personal Data as applicable to individuals located in the European Economic Area.
